Den lyser, fordi den er varm. Varmen fremkommer ved at tyngdekraften presser Solen sammen. Atomkerneprocesser i Solens indre har i mange \u00e5r gjort, og g\u00f8r stadig, at den holder en meget stabil temperatur. Jorden f\u00e5r energi fra Solen i form af lys og en smule partikelstr\u00e5ling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Solens effekt er 384.600.000.000.000.000.000.000.000 (384.600.000 trillioner) watt. Det betyder, at den p\u00e5 \u00e9t sekund udsender lige s\u00e5 meget energi, som der fremkommer ved afbr\u00e6nding af 12.000.000.000.000.000.000 (12 trillioner) liter benzin. Afstanden mellem Jorden og Merkur var 101.100.000 km, og afstanden til Solen var 148.100.000 km.<br>Den n\u00e6ste merkurpassage er den 13. november 2032.<\/em><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Den 8. juni 2004 oplevede jeg en venuspassage ved et \u00e5ben hus arrangement hos AGS i S\u00f8nderborg.
